iPad Mini 6 Rumors

Posted on

With the latest arrivals of the iPad Air 4 and iPad 8th Generation, many are wondering when we can expect to see a new iPad Mini from Apple. In our previous post about iPad 4 rumors, we speculated that a new iPad Mini would arrive in 2021. Here’s what we now know about the next pint-sized tablets as we inch closer to the new year.

When will it be released?

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to release the iPad Mini 6 in the first half of 2021. This would be around two years since the iPad Mini 5 was announced in March 2019.

How much will it cost?

Apple has generally priced its tablet models at the same price over the years, so it’s expected to keep the same starting $399 price with 64GB of storage like we saw with the iPad Mini 5.

What features could it have?

One of the biggest rumors Ming-Chi Kuo reports is the screen will be 8.5 inches, which is a slight increase from iPad Mini 5’s 7.9 inch screen. This larger size may mean a redesign for the mini, specifically smaller top and bottom bezels with a larger display. There’s also been speculation that the newest iPad could have a mini-LED screen, which has all the perks of an OLED screen display, but with improved contrast and image quality. This would be a major change over the previous edition, so we’ll have to wait and see what other updates come up between now and spring. The iPad Mini 6 will also most likely continue to have a lightning port, unlike the iPad Pro that has a universal USB-C port.

Any other rumors to share?

Good news for iPad Pro fans! Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts a spring 2021 update to the Pro, which aligns right with Apple’s rumored spring event in mid-March. The latest iPad Pro is rumored to employ mini-LED technology (which could also be an update to the iPad Mini 6 mentioned above). Only time will tell!
